Over 5 million tons of fresh grain sold on stock exchange
In the course of exchange trading in the grain harvest of 2010, more than 5.1 million tons of grain was sold as of August 27, including on spot terms 1.8 million tons and on the terms of forward 3.3 million tons. Virtually all of the crop was sold under export agreements, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
In particular, sales of bread wheat for export amounted to 2.2 million tons (spot - 570.8 thousand tons, forward - more than 1.6 million tons).
Feed grains for export was sold in the following volumes: barley - 2.1 million tons (spot - 1.0 million tons, forward - 1.1 million tons), wheat - 328.6 thousand tons (166.1 thousand tons and 162.6 thousand tons, respectively), corn 388.5 thousand tons (48.5 thousand tons and 340.0 thousand tons, respectively).
In addition, during the exchange trading in oilseeds of the 2010 crop, there were sold 805.9 thousand tons of oilseeds, including on spot terms 370.7 thousand tons and on forward terms 435.2 thousand tons. Virtually all of the oil-bearing crops were sold for export. Thus, the sales of rape under export contracts totaled 787.2 thousand tons, including on spot terms 363.2 thousand tons and on forward terms 420.0 thousand tons.
