No more than 3 million ha of winter crops will be sown in Ukraine due to bad weather
Ukraine will sow no more than 3 million ha of winter crops under the yield of 2014 due to bad weather conditions.
President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC) Leonid Kozachenko expressed this opinion at a press conference Friday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
I think that we will not be able to sow more than 3 million ha, and we planned approximately 8-8.5 million ha, Kozachenko noted.
According to his forecasts, about 2 million ha of winter wheat and 1 million ha of winter rape will be sown in Ukraine.
Kozachenko also specified that agricultural producers sowed 20-25% of the planned acreage, at the same time the weather forecast for the nearest week is unfavorable.
