Mykola Azarov: There are no reasons for increasing sugar prices
There are no reasons to increase the price of sugar. This was declared by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in an interview to the Ltava broadcasting company in Poltava.
"We have stocks of sugar more than sufficient. On the contrary - a month ago we did not know where to put it. Now for price stability there are all reasons," said the Prime Minister.
PM added there is enough of this product in the state reserve and the Government is ready at any moment to make an intervention in market to ensure price stability.
Thus, Prime Minister emphasized that the price of sugar at 8 hryvnias per kilogram is unacceptable. A buying craze on this product is artificial; it is related to the fact that people take a lot of sugar for future use.
"I demand to organize fairs, people should be provided with sugar at a stable price of about 6 hryvnias per kilogram," said Mykola Azarov.
In the case if shopping chains unreasonably increase the price of sugar, the tougher measures will be applied to them.
