Honey prospects for Ukraine
In 2016 export of the Ukrainian honey touched the record highs rising to 57 thous. tons that is 5.8 times more than export in 2011. Increase of export volume is observed in the current year as well. Thus, sale of honey abroad in January-April 2017 amounted to 21.9 thous. tons exceeding export volume of the corresponding period of 2016 by 2.3 times (12.4 thous. tons).
The main consumers of the Ukrainian honey over the first four months of 2017 are the following countries: the USA - USD 12.6 million (34% of the total exports of honey), Germany - USD 8.5 million (23%) and Poland - USD 3.7 million (10%). In terms of hryvnia devaluation as well as low purchasing power, further growth of export of the Ukrainian honey may occur this year.
