The President signed the Law ¹353-VII «On Amendments to Several Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Elimination of Restrictions in Business Activity» that provides for the new method of taking response measures by regulatory bodies with regard to the entity. This law was developed and submitted to the Parliament on the initiative of the President pursuant to the decision of the Committee on Economic Reforms in order to further deregulate and simplify business conditions, President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports.

Under the Law, the regulatory body cannot terminate the activity of enterprise unless there is a court decision. If the supervisory authority decides on taking other measures in response under the results of the inspection (e.g. the application of penalties, the imposition of requirements to eliminate drawbacks, etc.) it must apply to the court for confirmation of this decision. The given cases will be specified by sectoral laws. Thus, entrepreneurs are exempted from burdensome procedures of appealing against decisions on imposing sanctions in the courts. The law enters into force on July 1, 2013. The given Law prevents inadequate measures towards entrepreneurs.

Also, the Law repealed the introduction of new direction of examination of construction projects; Fire Department is deprived of the right to participate in the examination of construction projects because the examination is carried out by expert organizations; the need for submission of declaration of conformity of material and technical base to the requirements of legislation on fire safety on construction projects that are in operation, as well as objects that had previously received respective permit from the Fire Department was also abolished. This Law will facilitate the improvement of business climate and attract foreign and domestic investments into the economy.
