Coriander has fallen by 40%
During the year prices for coriander decreased by 8500 UAH/t (-40%) and amounted at 13500 UAH/t. According to the monitoring of the prices of the UCAB, average purchasing prices for coriander seeds in December 2015 are at the level of 13500 UAH/ton. The reason for the fall of the prices was increase in the supply in the market due to the increase of cultivated areas under crop from 6.1 thousand. HA in 2014 to 21.5 thous. HA in 2015.
In addition, for 9 months of the current year 3.6 thousand tons of coriander were exported from Ukraine that at 5.4 thousand tons less than during the respective period last year (9 tons). Reduction in the pace of exports is due to the expectations of producers for the increase of purchasing prices. Asian countries are the main buyers of Ukrainian coriander seeds, which shares account in 75% of the total exports; European countries get only 20%.
