Kernel to spend another $200 million on acquisitions
One of the largest operators in the Ukrainian market of sunflower oil and grain exports, company Kernel Groups, will spend on acquisitions up to $200 million in the 2011 fiscal year (started July 1).
Recently, Kernel swallowed one of its biggest competitors - Allseeds Group. Thanks to the group's Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv oil extraction plants, in the past fiscal year the company increased its processing capacities by 62%.
Kernel Group is the largest in Ukraine vertically integrated agro-industrial company working in the agricultural sector of Ukraine since 1994.
Allseeds Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers and exporters of vegetable oil. Working on the market since 1996, it is the third largest Ukrainian producer of crude sunflower oil. It accounts for 25-27% of the total exports of sunflower oil in this country.
Kernel, after buying Allseeds, will become the largest producer of sunflower oil. The company has already held the leading position (N1 with a share of 35%) in the domestic market of bottled oils with such strong brands as Schedryi Dar, Stozhar and Chumak.
