Kazakhstan: sowing campaign goes according to plan
Preparation works for the sowing campaign realization in Kazakhstan go according to plan, Asylzhan Mamytbekov, Minister of Agriculture, said on April 20.
In the current year, the general sowing areas of agricultural crops will total 21.3 mln ha, roughly the same areas as last year. The general spring sowing areas to be done throughout 18.6 mln ha, said A.Mamytbekov.
To date, agrarians of the southern region of the country sowed spring grains throughout 49% of the planned areas.
Previously, A.Mamytbekov reported that Kazakhstan has all conditions for harvesting good grain production volumes in the current agricultural year.
In 2010 in Kazakhstan grain production in clean weight totaled 12.2 mln tonnes.
