Kazakhstan: in April, the seaport Aktau increased grain shipment by 3 times

 In April 2011, the Republican State Enterprise "Aktau international sea trading port" in Kazakhstan shipped 4.483 thsd tonnes of barley. According to Raphael Galyamova, Chairman of Ak Bidai Terminal, Iran was the only one consignee.

According to him, all shipped grain volumes belonged to private companies. In April, grain volumes, owned by Food Contract Corporation, were not exported by sea through Aktau port through Ak Bidai Terminal.

In April, the port increased grain shipment by almost 2 times compared to February 2011 (2.584 thsd tonnes), and by 3 times compared to March (1.418 thsd tonnes).

As a reminder, in 2010 the seaport Aktau shipped 403.834 thsd tonnes of Kazakh grains through Ak Bidai Terminal, including 331.408 thsd tonnes of wheat and 72.425 thsd tonnes of barley. Iran was the main country-importer, as in 2009 - 382.198 thsd tonnes of grains. Turkey imported 16.661 thsd tonnes, Azerbaijan - 4.974 thsd tonnes of grains.
