Kazakhstan: grain harvest exceeds the last year results by 12 mln tonnes

According to data the oblast directorates of agriculture, as of October 12, 2011, Kazakhstan harvested grains throughout 93.7% of the planned areas (15.1 mln ha), and produced 25.7 mln tonnes of grains with the average yield of 17 c/ha (up 8.1 c/ha compared to 2010), declared the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As a reminder, on October 12, 2010, the country produced 13.6 mln tonnes of grains.
In 2011 the sowing areas of all agricultural crops in Kazakhstan totaled 21.2 mln ha, including grain sowings - 16.2 mln ha (in particular, wheat sowings - 13.8 mln ha).
