In the first quarter of 2011, Russia increased agricultural production by 0.7%
In March 2011, in the Russian Federation the volume of agricultural commodities production of all agricultural producers of the Russian Federation (agricultural organizations, farming enterprises, population) totaled 149 bln RUB in the current prices (5.295 bln USD), in the first quarter of 2011 – 342.3 bln RUB (12.168 bln USD), an increase of 0.7% compared to the same period of 2010, announced the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat).
As of. April 1, 2011, 9 subjects of the Russian Federation provided sowing works of agricultural crops as opposed to 11 subjects on the same date of 2010. The country sowed spring crops throughput the areas of 185.6 thsd ha, including grains (without maize) – 87.9 thsd ha, down 51.7% and 57.7% compared to the same date of the last year, respectively.
