In August, grain exports from Russia to total 2.9-3 mln tonnes – forecast
Basing on the current rates of grain export volumes via railways and price conjuncture, Analytical center of CJSC Rusagrotrans forecasts that the export volumes of grains in August 2011 will total 2.9-3 mln tonnes (in July 2011 - 2.4 mln tonnes). The volume will become the record for August period, reported the press release of Rusagrotrans.
It is expected that grain shipments of the deep-sea ports of Novorossiysk and Tuapse will be close to the maximum level in August, and exceed 1.4 mln tonnes. In the current month the volume of rail transportation of grains may reach 850-900 thsd tonnes, which is the highest since March 2009 (930 thsd tonnes).
The press release also noted that the good pricing environment on the international markets and significant number of offers on the domestic market of Russia led to high financial market indicators. In the terms of the average price of wheat at the level of 250 USD/t FOB, the volume of exports of the Russian grain market in July and August 2011 will total 38.5 bln RUR (1.35 bln USD). In the terms of the positive scenario of the market development, its financial capacity may reach 160-170 bln RUR.
