In 2009/10 MY, Ukraine to produce 3 mln tonnes of sunflower oil
According to the preliminary forecast of the association Ukroliaprom, in 2009/10 MY, the production of sunflower oil in Ukraine will reach the level of 2.9-3 mln tonnes, declared Stepan Kapshuk, the general director of the association, on April 22.
According to him, sunflower oil exports from Ukraine will total nearly 2.4 mln tonnes.
At the same time, the association forecasts the decrease of sunflower seed exports from 767.2 thsd tonnes in 2008/09 MY to 200-220 thsd tonnes in 2009/10 MY.
As a reminder, according to preliminary estimations, during seven months of the current season, Ukraine processed 4 mln tonnes of sunflower seed. At the same time, sunflower oil production totaled 1.74 mln tonnes.
During the reporting period, Ukraine exported 1.4 mln tonnes of sunflower oil.
