Grain harvest in Russia in 2011 could reach 82-86 mln tons - expert
The Analytical Centre "Sovecon" predicts grain harvest in Russia this year at 82-86 million tons, announced the executive director Andrei Sizov at the conference "Grain Forum-2011" (June 23-24, Yalta), organized by APK-Inform.
Acording to the expert, Russia could export 15-16 mln tons. However lots will depend on the goverment of the Russian Federation.
According to him, the total sowing area of grains in Russia is 43.6 million hectares. The Expert also noticed that there no reasons to conform the rumors about drought in Russia.
"Indeed, there was a difficult situation in the first half of June, especially in the European part of Russia, but even in mid-June the situation had improved due the past rain" - he said.
