Grain export supports Ukraine's foreign trade
The export of grain continues supporting Ukraine's foreign trade, says Oleksiy Blinov, economist with Astrum Investment Management.
In his words, in September 2009, the export of grain was growing thanks to the new harvest. The export of grain crops made USD 348 million in September, which is the biggest monthly indicator since November 2008.
Yet, he said, in September the export of grain dropped 40.8% on the year, because in 2009 the global prices of grain largely reduced.
The expert predicted a deficit of trade in goods and services in 2009 at the level of USD 1.7 billion.
