Grain export expected to reach 9 million tons
The amount of grain exported in the first four months of the 2009/2010 marketing year will reach nine million tons, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.
"In the wake of this year's harvest of grain crops predicted by the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation at over 47 million tons, including over ten million tons of corn, the pace of Ukrainian grain exports slightly exceeds the figures of last year when grain harvest amounted to 53 million tons," Confederation Director General Serhiy Stoyanov said.
Ukraine exported 10.6 million tons of grain crops during the first four months of the current marketing year, including 9 million tons of grain, 1.1 million tons of oil-bearing crops, and over 500,000 tons of grain products.
