Grain crop to hit 48 million tons
The 2009 grain yield in Ukraine will make 48 million tons, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko told a grand meeting on the occasion of Farmer's Day Wednesday.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the quality of this year's harvest is higher than last year's. Tymoshenko assured farmers that by the end of the year their branch would be financed in full, with UAH 11 billion, as planned. As reported, the agricultural policy ministry increased the 2009 grain harvest forecast from 47 to 48 million tons owing to corn.
