Farmers have all necessary conditions to provide field works in a limited time
Due to the weather conditions, Ukraine slowed down the pace of the harvest. Nevertheless, most crops are in a satisfactory condition. It has been prepared necessary machines, drying equipment and storages to provide grain harvest in a short time. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine monitors the situation and gives farmers necessary recommendations. It was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
Farmers have already collected more than 36 million tons of grain. However, due to the rainy weather, the late crops harvest pace was slowed down this month. Although the condition of crops is satisfactory. Farmers have the necessary equipment to complete the harvest when the weather is fine. But the main issue is to keep the high quality of the grain, especially corn. To do this, it has been already prepared all the available drying equipment, said the Minister.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk stressed that it is important to maintain high rates of export. This will provide quick storage freeing. Besides, the Minister said that current marketing year, the export opportunities of Ukraine were 29 million tons of grain. This is the second place in the world after the United States.
According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is constantly monitoring the work at the fields in the regions. Besides, farmers are provided with necessary scientific advice.
Winter crop sowing will be held in a later permitted period. If farmers follow the advice of scientists, they will avoid the loss of the future harvest due to the expected warm weather in October and November, " said the Minister.
According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, as of today farmers have already sown more than 2 million hectares of winter crops. They are provided with the necessary seeds and fertilizers by more than 100 %.
