Farmers expect grain yield of 56 million tons
Ukrainian farmers expect to harvest 56 million tons of grain in 2013. This forecast was voiced by President of the Ukrainian Grain Association Volodymyr Klymenko during a round table in Kyiv on Thursday.
"Last year we harvested 46 million tons of grain. This year, the winter is great. We will have to reseed only 3-5% of winter crops. Therefore, we expect a big harvest this year - by 10 million tons more than last year," Klymenko said.
According to him, this will make it possible to increase the export of grain from 22 to 30 million tons in the next marketing year.
