Experts predict 2010 grain crop at 40 million tons
According to experts, the harvest of grain crops in Ukraine in 2010 will be 40 million tons. Under these terms production growth in agriculture in 2010 will be from 2% to 3.5%, the President's Secretariat predicts.
Experts forecast a slight rise in the agricultural output in the 1st quarter of 2010, the presidential press service reported.
Last year Ukraine harvested 46 million tons of grain (second biggest volume since independence), 6.4 million tons of sunflower, 10 million tons of sugar beet, and 1 million tons of soy (the best indicator since independence).
The condition of crops is mainly good and satisfactory.
