European Union - Grain production
Figures released today reveal that EU cereal production will shrink by around 14.6 million tonnes, or 5%, this year as poor weather ravages yields.
The EU is among the world's major grain suppliers and this week's news follows downgraded harvest estimates in many other key producers, boosting grain prices in recent months.
