European Commission reaffirms government's right to introduce quotas on grain exports - Mykola Azarov
The European Commission has reaffirmed the right of the Ukrainian government to quote grain exports, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told the Cabinet meeting Wednesday.
"Quoting of strategic exports under such circumstances is absolutely civilized practice that is fully understood and supported by foreign partners of Ukraine. The European Commission sent a letter to the Government, which confirmed our right to impose quotas, only asking to quickly organize transparency of the process. And that's what we do," the head of government says.
As UKRINFORM correspondents reported, Azarov said the government had sent to parliament a bill that should be considered as urgent, on introduction of auction sale of quotas on grain exports.
"We offer the operators of the grain market a transparent and fair competitive mechanism," the head of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed.
