European Business Association asking Ukrainian government to cancel grain export duties
The European Business Association is asking the government of Ukraine to cancel grain export duties in the near future, according to an association press release.
The association has sent a relevant open letter to the Cabinet of Ministers.
"The European Business Association and the members of the committee for grains and oilseeds, which includes 17 leading agricultural companies and represents the interests of both grain exporters and producers, support an initiative of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry to amend the law on customs tariffs and are asking for export duties on certain grain crops to be abolished, without introducing other export restrictions," reads a statement.
The association said the cancellation of export duties is urgently needed because autumn is the period of signing contracts for grain supplies, and a delay in taking such a decision would prevent Ukraine from achieving high export figures.
