The European Union and Russia have agreed to start bilateral consultations on the economic consequences of the signature of association agreements between Brussels and eastern neighbors.
This issue was discussed during the EU-Russia summit, which was held in Brussels on Tuesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Today we have agreed that we should pursue bilateral consultations at expert level on the Eastern Partnership Association Agreements and their possible economic consequences for both sides," European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said at a final press conference.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, said that this initiative is "useful in the highest degree."
The Russian leader also said that the next Russia-EU summit would be held in Sochi on June 3.
