Economy ministry wants to optimize logistics expenses in grain exports
The interagency working group of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine for logistics expenses and increasing the efficiency of grain exports in the 2013/14 agricultural year has agreed a schedule of measures aimed at the optimization of logistics expenses, the press service of the ministry has reported.
The press service said that one of the key clauses of the schedule is the creation of the required conditions for stable grain and grain products transportation all over Ukraine.
In addition, it is planned to increase the efficiency of the use of the transport potential in grain shipping for exports using the internal waterways of the Black Sea basin, in particular, the Dnipro River and Pivdenny Buh River.
"A lot of attention was paid to the removal of the lack of balance in the level of tariffs for grain cargo shipments by rail [within Ukraine for exports and imports]," reads the report.
The cost of services for inspection during grain exports will be revised and a procedure for receiving permits will be facilitated.
"The fulfillment of the measures will promote make it easier to do business, removing artificial barriers during grain transportation and increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian grain on the international markets," reads the report.
