EBRD not planning to reduce crediting of Ukraine
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) strategy does not foresee a reduction in the number of loans for Ukraine, the EBRD Director for Ukraine Andre Kuusvek has said.
The bank is planning to focus on energy, electricity production, as well as municipal and state infrastructure.
The overall amount of funds for these projects should total at least USD 1.5 billion.
The volume of business operations conducted on the EBRD's projects as of late 2009 totaled EUR 4.8 billion. Three fourths of these funds were transferred to the country's private sector.
The EBRD began to cooperate with Ukraine in 1993. Last year's volume of the bank's operations exceeded USD 1.5 billion for the first time.
