Crediting of farm sector in 2009 cut by 3.14 times, says agriculture ministry
The crediting of the farm sector in Ukraine in 2009 dropped by 3.14 times compared to 2008, to UAH 4.3 billion (UAH 7.98 / USD 1), First Deputy Agriculture Minister Borys Supikhanov has said.
He said that the number of economic entities that borrowed the funds had fallen from 15,000 to 1,700. "There are almost no long-term and medium-term loans, and nearly all of loans are short-term," he said.
Supikhanov said that banks had restructured UAH 3.1 billion worth of loans issued earlier, out of the UAH 4.2 billion that should be restructured.
