Cooperation with Customs Union should be encouraging for Ukrainian businesses - President
Ukraine is ready to accede to all the provisions of the Customs Union, which are not inconsistent with its international obligations and rules of the World Trade Organization, President Viktor Yanukovych said during his working visit to Cherkasy region.
"I definitely said: everything that would be consistent with international obligations, everything that would be consistent with the World Trade Organization rules - on all these issues we are ready to join the provisions of the Customs Union so as to create the conditions for our producers and the economy, and also remove the barriers which exist today," he stressed.
The president pointed out that Ukraine must find a format of relations with the countries of the Customs Union, which would create motivation and conditions for the increase of trade, finance and labor force movement.
On top Yanukovych emphasized that last year Ukraine lost up to $5 billion in trade with Russia.
