Cheese and spread production down in nine months
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-September 2009, production of fatty cheese in Ukraine fell by 3.5% year-over-year, to 183,600 tons. Production of fresh non-fermented and sour milk cheeses decreased by 9.6% to 63,100 tons. Output of spreads and fat blends in the nine months of 2009 stood at 50,700 tons (down 13.2%), butter 62,000 tons (down 13.3%). Processed milk production dropped by 5.8% to 577,000 tons.
