Chain Eko Market closes H1 with UAH 27mn in loss
The chain Eko Market considered one of the top ten players of the Ukrainian food retail market has closed the first half of 2009 with net loss of UAH 27.11mn (EUR 2.36mn USD 3.34mn). Gross profit amounted to UAH 88.746mn, up 17.9%, and net income from sales UAH 795.49mn, up 32.8%. As of the end of June 2009, the chain run 64 supermarkets in 24 cities of the country. In August 2009, Eko Market is to open another two supermarkets in Kharkov with the total sales area of 1,910m2.
