Cabinet made domestic producers indicate GMO content on food articles labels
Cabinet has obliged domestic producers to show genetically modified organisms content on food articles labels, reported May 13/09 Serghiy Romaniuk, Deputy Minister of Economics referring to Cabinet corresponding Decree.
“Thus, presence of any GMO quantity in food article must be obligatory indicated on any domestic food article label… Producers will have to show on labels whether food articles contain GMO as well as GMO content percentage…” declared Deputy Minister.
Romaniuk admitted Decree comes into force since signing.
As to him, cost of GMO food articles presence researches is to be calculated by State Committee for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy (State Standard) and coordinated with Ministry of Economics.
