Belarusian agricultural companies produced over 6 mln tonnes of grains
As of August 11, 2011, agricultural enterprises of Belarus produced 6.04 mln tonnes of new crop grains, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the country.
The average yield in Belarus totaled 34.9 c/ha, an increase of 4.9 c/ha compared to the same date last year.
Generally, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 1.73 mln ha, or 76.5% of the harvesting areas.
Belarus harvested malting barley throughout 83.3 thsd ha (73.5% of the plan), and produced 276.4 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 33.2 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested rapeseed throughout 218.5 thsd ha, or 73.5% of the harvesting areas, and produced 352.6 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 16.1 c/ha.
The country started sowing winter rapeseed. As of the morning of August 11, agrarians sowed the oilseed throughout the areas of 37.3 thsd ha (8.6% of the plan).
