Belarus to export 65,000 tonnes of beetsugar to Ukraine in 2010
A quota has been assigned for Belarus to deliver 65,000 tonnes of beetsugar to Ukraine this year. The two sides have signed the relevant contracts, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko stated at a briefing in Kyiv after a session of the Belarus-Ukraine intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation on 15 April.
The issue to increase the quota to 150,000 tonnes of beetsugar is being currently discussed. Vladimir Semashko did not comment on the price.
First Vice Premier of Ukraine Andrei Kluyev emphasized the country’s readiness to cooperate with Belarus on a mutually beneficial basis. “If there is a deficit of these products on the Ukrainian market, we are ready to cooperate with all friendly countries including Belarus,” he said.
