Belarus almost completed the spring sowing campaign
Agricultural enterprises of Belarus almost completed the sowing works of spring crops. As of May 10, 2011, sowed spring crops throughout the areas of 2.502 mln ha (96.7% of the forecast).
In particular, agrarians sowed maize throughout 632.2 thsd ha (72.2%), including grain maize - 212.3 thsd ha (137.9%).
Agrarians resowed perished winter grain sowings throughout 216.5 thsd ha (99.8% of the required areas), the perished areas of winter rapeseed were resowed throughout 122.9 thsd ha (70.1%).
