Beet sugar production 38.5% up against previous year in Ukraine
As of October 20, Ukrainian sugar refineries produced 763,400 tons of sugar from beet of the new yield, 38.5% up against the same date of the previous year.
As Ukrtsukor national association told UKRINFORM, enterprises have already taken 8.54 million tons of sugar beet, whereas on the same date of the previous year - 5.29 million tons and produced 6.71 million tons against 4.18 million tons last year.
Now, 67 sugar refineries are functioning out of 70 enterprises put into exploitation this year. Two sugar enterprises completed the season and one suspended its work due to absence of raw materials.
Ukrtsukor association expects that beet sugar production will make up 1.7 million tons in the new season in Ukraine against the previous year's 1.26 million tons.
