Banks increased agricultural financing
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of the beginning of August 2015 enterprises of the agricultural sector of Ukraine were granted loans worth USD 54,5 bln, which is USD 2 bln more than during the same period in 2014. The sum of loans issued in foreign currency for a period of 1 to 5 years increased by almost USD 4,3 bln. This may be partly related to the devaluation of hryvnia and the revaluation of a number of already granted loans according to the updated rate of national to foreign currency. The share of agricultural loans in the total amount of loans granted decreased from 7% in 2014 to 6,63% in 2015.
The amount of overdue loans from January to the end of July this year compared to the same period in 2014 increased more than twofold and reached almost UAH 8,85 bln. The amount of overdue loans in foreign currency for a period of 1 to 5 years increased significantly - from UAH 0,7 bln in 2014 to almost UAH 3,8 bln in 2015, which is also associated with the devaluation of the national currency and the unfavourable economic situation in the country.
