Azarov notes need to find new foreign markets for domestic goods
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has stressed the need to find new foreign markets to promote domestic goods.
He announced this at a government meeting on Wednesday.
"We should vigorously open foreign markets for our goods and simultaneously open the opportunities of the Ukrainian market for foreign investors. And we should also help our exporters find orders on the domestic market at a difficult time. But such opportunities actually exist even amid the recession of the global economy," Azarov said.
He recalled that last week he had a meeting with a special representative of the South Korean president, Lee Jae-oh, who expressed interest in enhancing bilateral trade and spoke about the possibility of investing in Ukraine. "Korean businesses have seen Ukraine's potential. Korea is ready to participate in the joint production in Ukraine of high-speed trains, the construction of high-speed railways, the construction of an LNG terminal, as well as to participate in projects in agriculture and projects on the creation of e-governance, etc," Azarov said.
He also added that trade and economic relations with China, Brazil and India were dynamically developing. The head of government demanded that special attention be paid to economic relations with countries that demonstrate dynamic development.
