Astarta intends to increase grain output by 97%, sugar output by 75%, milk output by 30% in 2011

Astarta agroholding, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, is planning to increase grain and oilseed crops harvest by 97% in 2011 compared to 2010, to over 650,000 tonnes, white sugar production by 75%, to 350,000 tonnes and milk output by 30%, to 65,000 tonnes, reads a company press release issued on Thursday.
The company said that in 2011 it plans to harvest around 2.1 million tonnes of sugar beets, which is 59% up year-over-year.
Astarta also said that corn yield in 2011 grew by 46% compared to 2010, that for soybeans by 44%, sugar beet by 43%, wheat by 32%, barley by 15% and sunflower seeds by 5%.
According to the report, Astarta in January-September 2011 produced 50,000 tonnes of milk, a 28% rise year-over-year. Milk sales rose by 25%, to 46,000 tonnes.
The company also said that sales of grain and oilseeds in the nine months ending on September 30, 2011 grew by 32%.
