As of September 9, Russia produced over 70 mln tonnes of grains

As of September 9, 2011, Russia produced 71.5 mln tonnes of grains (in bunker weight), an increase of 24 mln tonnes compared to the dry year of 2010, and up 2.6 mln tonnes compared to the successful 2009. Agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 29.2 mln ha, or 66.2% of the harvesting areas (up 2 mln ha compared to 2010, and up 2.3 mln ha compared to 2009), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In the current year, the average yield totaled 24.5 c/ha against 19.7 c/ha in 2010, and 25.6 c/ha in 2009.

Agricultural enterprises of the Southern Federal District harvested grains throughout 84.5% of the planned areas, and produced 19.3 mln tonnes of grains against 17.6 mln tonnes last year. The yield reached the level of 32.4 c/ha against 30.7 c/ha.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture, in the current year the general grain production will total 85-90 mln tonnes as opposed to 60.9 mln tonnes last year.
