As of July 28, Ukraine produced 28.1 mln tonnes of grains
As of July 28, Ukraine harvested 28.1 mln tonnes of early grains and leguminous crops throughout 9.5 mln ha, or 83% of planned harvesting areas, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the Ministry, the average yield of early grains and leguminous crops in the country totaled 29.5 c/ha as opposed to 24.2 c/ha on the same date in 2010.
The Ministry indicated that rains in the central and north-western regions slowed down progress of the harvesting works: on the previous day agrarians harvested grains throughout 267 thsd ha, and produced 0.845 mln tonnes.
In particular, agricultural enterprises produced 19.5 mln tonnes of wheat throughout the areas of 5.9 mln ha (87% of the forecast). The average yield totaled 33.1 c/ha against 27.4 c/ha last year.
Barley production totaled 7.8 mln tonnes throughout 3.2 mln ha (84% of the forecast). The average yield totaled 24.6 c/ha compared to 20.8 c/ha last year.
Besides, agrarians harvested 1.2 mln tonnes of rapeseed throughout 0.74 mln ha (86% of the forecast). The yield index is similar to 2010 - 16.5 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested 0.353 mln tonnes of rye throughout 0.166 mln ha (59% of the forecast), 0.366 mln tonnes of peas throughout 0.246 mln ha (91% of the forecast).
As of July 27, the certified grain storehouses of Ukraine received 3.21 mln tonnes of wheat, including 1-grade wheat - 0.3%, 2nd grade- 18.8%; 3rd grade – 37.7%; 4th grade – 2.4%; 5th grade – 12.9%; 6th grade – 27%.
Besides, the certified storehouses received 1.246 mln tonnes of barley, 50.3 thsd tonnes of peas and 18.7 thsd tonnes of rye.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food forecasts the growth of grain production in 2011 to 47.4 mln tonnes as opposed to 39.3 mln tonnes last year.
