As of August 25, Russia produced 41.5 mln tonnes of grains

According to official data of the federal subjects of the Russian Federation, as of August 25, 2010, Russia harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of nearly 20.2 mln ha (or 50% of the forecast), a decrease of 2.6 mln ha compared to 2009 level. The general grain production volumes totaled 41.5 mln tonnes, as opposed to 60.5 mln tonnes in 2009. The average yield totaled 20.6 c/ha as opposed to 26.5 c/ha in 2009, announced the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

Particularly, the Central Federal District produced nearly 9.7 mln tonnes of grains (18.6 mln tonnes in 2009), throughout 5.2 mln ha (or 78% of the forecast), down 0.8 mln ha compared to the previous year results. The average yield totaled 18.6 c/ha (31 c/ha in 2009).

Agrarians of the Southern Federal District harvested over 16.8 mln tonnes of grains (18.4 mln tonnes as of the same date of 2009) throughout nearly 5.5 mln ha (or 80% of the forecast), down 0.7 mln ha compared to the previous year. The average yield totaled 30.8 c/ha (as opposed to 29.6 c/ha in 2009).

The North Caucasian Federal District produced nearly 7.5 mln tonnes of grains (7.6 mln tonnes in 2009) throughout over 2.3 mln ha (or 87% of the forecast), down 147 thsd ha compared to the previous year. The average yield totaled 32.1 c/ha (as opposed to 30.8 c/ha in 2009).

The Volga Federal District produced over 6 mln tones of grains (14.5 mln tonnes in 2009), throughout nearly 6.1 mln ha (or 56% of the forecast) as opposed to 7.4 mln ha in 2009. The average yield totaled 10 c/ha (19.5 c/ha in 2009).

The North-Western Federal District harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 152.4 thsd ha (or 53.6% of the forecast), and produced 308.4 thsd tonnes of grains (230.9 thsd tonnes in 2009). The average yield totaled 20.2 c/ha (as opposed to 29.8 c/ha on the same date of 2009).

Agrarians of the Far Eastern Federal District started the harvesting campaign, and harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 108.5 thsd ha (or 34% of the forecast), and produced 115 thsd tonnes of grains (168.8 thsd tonnes in 2009). The average yield totaled 10.6 c/ha (as opposed to 16.8 c/ha on the same date of 2009).

The Urals Federal District produced 910.8 thsd tones of grains (225.7 thsd tonnes in 2009), throughout the areas of 691.8 thsd ha (or 21% of the forecast). The average yield totaled 13.2 c/ha (16.1 c/ha in 2009).

The Siberian Federal District harvested grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 151.5 thsd ha, and produced 186.6 thsd tonnes of grains (797.1 thsd tonnes in 2009). The average yield totaled 12.3 c/ha (as opposed to 20.2 c/ha in 2009).

The country produced over 29 mln tonnes of wheat (39.3 mln tonnes in 2009) throughout the areas of over 12.6 mln ha, down 1 mln ha compared to 2009. The average yield totaled 22.9 c/ha (28.9 c/ha in 2009).

Russia produced over 5.9 mln tonnes of barley (11.2 mln tonnes in 2009) throughout the areas of over 3.3 mln ha, down 1 mln ha compared 2009. The average yield totaled 17.9 c/ha (25.8 c/ha in 2009).

The Russian Federation produced 441.1 thsd tonnes of winter and spring rapeseed (266.2 thsd tonnes in 2009) throughout the areas of 285.8 thsd ha, up 144.1 thsd ha compared to the last year level. The average yield totaled 15.4 c/ha as opposed to 18.8 c/ha in the previous year.

Several subjects of the Russian Federation started the sowing campaign of winter crops. As of August 25, Russian agrarians sowed winter crops throughout 356.4 thsd ha (964.8 thsd ha in 2009).
