Almost all winter crops in good state - Azarov
The state of winter grain crops is estimated as good and satisfactory on 91% of sown areas. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said about this at the government meeting on Wednesday.
“The sowing campaign is nearing its completion in Crimea: 94% of the planned areas have been sowed. Sowing continues in Kherson, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. According to regions, the state of winter crops is estimated as good and satisfactory on 91% of areas, weak and spaced - on 8% of the acreage,” Azarov noted.
The government head added that although spring is not hurrying to the majority of Ukrainian regions, however spring field works have already started on the South and in Crimea. According to Azarov, agricultural producers have been sufficiently provided with mineral fertilizers and seeds.
“Sowing works are well organized and well provided,” Azarov assured.
