Agroliga plans to cut area of fields for 2013 harvest by 9.6%

 Agroliga (Kharkiv region) plans to sow 4,350 hectares with spring crops for the 2013 harvest, which is 9.6% down  year-over-year, reads a posting on the Agroligas Web site. The report says that the company will sow 910 hectares with barley, 2,360 hectares with sunflower seeds, 630 hectares with corn and 450,000 hectares with buckwheat.

Around 900 hectares will be sown with fodder crops, including annual and perennial grasses, and corn. The report says that Agroliga plans to start the spring campaign from April 3-4, 2013. As reported, in 2012 the company cut crop sowing by 14.5% on 2011, to 2,190 hectares.

Agroliga has been working on the Ukrainian market of agricultural products since 1992. Its enterprises grow grain, process sunflower seeds, and produces milk. Agroligas land bank is 7,500 hectares in Kharkiv region. In 2012, the net profit of Agroliga increased by 83% compared to 2011, to EUR 3.16 million. Its revenues rose by 2.3 times, to EUR 16.5 million.
