PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation purchased 3 million tonnes of grain from agricultural producers since the beginning of 2013.

Corporation's CEO Robert Brovdi has said about this, the press service of the State Food and Grain Corporation informs.

“Our procurement programs cover all without exception regions of Ukraine. The largest volumes of grain were supplied for the corporation by agricultural producers of Odesa, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Vinnytsia regions. Total amount of the funds, received by national agricultural producers, who has sold their grain to the corporation, made up over UAH 4.13 billion,” Brovdi noted.

He also noted that the food and grain corporation over this period became a partner for more than 1,500 agricultural producers, arranged cooperation with 316 certified grain elevators, five ports and 23 forwarding companies.

“In total, the state corporation has successfully fulfilled its procurement plans for the 2013 calendar year. At the same time, several important tasks have been realized: programs of financial support to agricultural producers were fulfilled, capacities of own linear and port elevators were loaded, processing industry was provided with raw materials, a grain balance was formed for exports to foreign markets,” Robert Brovdi stressed.

He also assured that the corporation's procurement will not stop on the domestic market. On spot conditions, the purchase of grain of the 2013 yield will be carried out until the end of the marketing season (June 2014), and from February, conclusion of forward contracts will start for wheat and corn of the 2014 yield.

The State Food and Grain Corporation started an active purchase campaign in spring 2013, and as of today, 3 million tonnes of grain was purchased from agricultural producers, including 1 million tonnes on forward contracts and 2 million tonnes - on spot terms. Out of total volume of grain, purchased by the corporation, more than 58% (1.75 million tonnes) falls on corn, 35% (1.05 million tonnes) - on wheat, 7% - on barley, soya, buckwheat, rye and other crops.
