Agricultural enterprises can mobilize about USD 1bln credits in 2010 - expert
Ukrainian agricultural enterprises can attract about USD 1 billion of credit resources in 2010, President of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association Alex Lissitsa forecasts.
"We believe that the crisis bottom has been already passed by the banking system. The banks, in particular those with foreign capital, gradually renew crediting, including the agricultural sector," he said.
Lissitsa also informed that in 2010, according to the Association data, growing of sunflower seeds, prices for which will reach USD 450-500/ton, will be perspective for Ukrainian agrarians.
"Certainly, prices will not reach its peak level like in 2007, but nevertheless growing of this culture will be profitable," he said.
In addition, Lissitsa said that the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club expects a growth of maximum prices for wheat in April-May 2010 to USD 160/ton. "We also forecast in 2010 a growth of purchase prices for extra class milk to UAH 4,500/ton (1 USD - 7.99 UAH)," he said.
