Agricultural insurance is a key component for increasing competitiveness

On October 12, 2017, at 09:30, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the project “The development of financing for the agrarian sector in Europe and Central Asia” will organize a round table discussion on “Agricultural Insurance is a key component for increasing the competitiveness of agriculture”

Place: Radisson Blu Hotel, Conference Hall Embassy, ​​(Yaroslaviv Val Str.22).

To this end, specially invited guest from the US Kent Lanclos, the head of the USDA-Risk Management Agency will arrive in Ukraine who will tell how the agency's work has affected the development of agriculture in the United States and share international experiences in the field of agricultural insurance.

Participants in the round table will consist of speakers from:

1) Olena Voloshina – the Head of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Ukraine;

2) Leah Soroka – the Head of the IFC Program “The development of financing for the agrarian sector in Europe and Central Asia”;

3) Maksym Martynyuk - the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine;

Upon completion of the presentations, a panel discussion with the participation of key players in the financial, insurance and agrarian markets will take place and it will include the following topics:

• What role does the agricultural insurance play in the development of agricultural competitiveness?
• What are the models and ways of development for agricultural insurance in Ukraine?

The measures aimed at forming the system of agricultural insurance in Ukraine as a key component of agricultural development.
