In August Ukraine exported 1.3 MMT of grains
In August grain exports from Ukraine approximated 1300.4 KMT that is much lower than in August 2009 when Ukraine exported 2245.9 KMT. The decline of exports was due to reduction of wheat shipments.

Russia to sow winter crops throughout over 18 mln ha
According to the official data, taking into account perishing of nearly 30% of the general grain sowing areas, Russia harvested grains throughout 60% of the planned sowings, and produced 43 mln tonnes of grains, including 30 mln tonnes of wheat, declared Elena Skrynnik, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on August 31.

According to data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, as of August 27, 2010, the trading volumes of grains of the harvest-2010 on the exchange market of Ukraine totaled 5.13 mln tonnes, including 1.85 mln tonnes on spot contract conditions, and over 3.28 mln tonnes on forward conditions.

European Union - Meat prices stable
Consumer prices in the euro area (the economic and monetary union of 16 member states) rose to 1.7% per annum in July, the highest rate in 20 months, according to the European Index of Consumer Prices. However, the food price index rose by a slight 0.8% per annum, while meat prices remained stable.
