Wheat production in Ukraine may fall by 43% a year
Grain Ukraine cuts its forecast of wheat production in Ukraine in 2012/13 by almost 2 to 12.7 MMT from previos forecast. Correction is due to smaller than expected yields.
In 2011/12 in Ukraine was harvested about 22.3 MMT of wheat.
Estimate of exports in 2011/12 revised upward by 0.3 to 5.3MMT.
In July-May 2011/12 Ukraine exported about 4.9MMT of wheat.
The main directions of export of Ukrainian wheat in this season are North Africa (Egypt, Tunisia...) - 30.8% of total shipments, Middle East (Israel, Saudi Arabia...) - 30.4% and EU-27 (Spain, Italy) - 30.3%
