Wheat exports fell in February: ABARE
Australian wheat exports fell to around 1.2 million tonnes in February, compared to 1.4 million tonnes in the previous month.
The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resources Economics (ABARE) wheat supply and exports report, released on Thursday, showed exports from Victoria and NSW increased in February, but shipments from Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia fell.
Wheat committed for export increased to around 3.5 million tonnes in February, up from around 3.3 million tonnes in January.
Bulk shipments fell by 174,700 tonnes to around 994,300 tonnes in February, compared with 1.2 million tonnes shipped in January.
The largest markets for bulk wheat exports were Indonesia, China and Korea.
Wheat committed for domestic use was around 1.4 million tonnes in February.
