USDA increases monthly forecast for Ukraine 2009 grain harvest
The United States Department of Agriculture has forecast the 2009 grain harvest in Ukraine at 42.95 million tons and grain exports in the 2009/2010 marketing year (July 2009 – June 2010) at 17.05 million tons, which is 500,000 tons up on the forecast it made a month ago.
According to a USDA report, in particular, the wheat harvest is expected at 20 million tons, against 25.9 million tons (USDA's evaluation) in 2008, and the fodder grain harvest at 22.95 million tons, compared to last year's 26.22 million tons.
